Discount supermarket chain Aldi is to open a second distribution hub in Tamworth on short notice with a 120,000 sq ft unit at Centurion 120 on Centurion Park.
The company issued an urgent request six weeks ago and has now completed a deal to secure more space in close proximity to its main hub in Atherstone, north Warwickshire.
Aldi has taken a six-year lease on the block with a break clause at year three.
LSH associate director Ed Forrester said: “Properties of this size and calibre are few and far between in the area, so we were very keen to agree terms with the landlords to secure Centurion 120 for Aldi.
“Negotiations with the landlord’s agent went very smoothly, so were able to complete the transaction quickly and to everyone’s satisfaction.”
Other tenants on the park include Home Retail Group and Norbert Dentressangle.
