Birmingham positions itself as second main shopping centre

Birmingham is looking to position itself as the U.K.’s second major shopping centre, behind London.

Investment in stores and transport infrastructure is set to approach £1 billion, and includes a £35 million new John Lewis store, a £20 million investment in the existing Selfridges store in the Bullring, and a doubling of Harvey Nichols’ outlet in the Mailbox development, itself undergoing a £50 million face lift.
