BSkyB is in talks with Allied London over satisfying a long-running Leeds requirement at the developer’s The Engine in Leeds’ Clarence Dock.
The broadcaster is looking at taking the whole of the 70,000 sq ft scheme.
BSkyB had previously looked at Commercial Development Projects’ 69,000 sq ft 6 Queen Street scheme and MEPC’s 90,000 sq ft 6 Wellington
Place – where it already has a 20,000 sq ft presence.
The broadcaster has been looking for space in the city since early 2013 as part of a consolidation programme involving a number of functions in Leeds and a Sky Bet site in Harrogate.
Allied had intended The Engine to become a tech hub and is understood to be deciding whether it wants to let the scheme to a number of tenants rather than a single occupier.
A BSkyB spokesman said: “We are a growing business with several operations in Leeds and continue to review opportunities to consolidate our teams, but have no current plans to move into The Engine building.”
Allied lodged plans to transform the former Alea casino into The Engine earlier this month.
Cushman & Wakefield is advising BSkyB; Jones Lang LaSalle acts for MEPC and is joint agent with Carter Towler on Queen Street. Allied is unrepresented.
