Stroud High Street boost

Stroud is getting a £2m redevelopment of seven listed properties at 57-62 High Street.

The scheme, by Morgan Commercial Investments and Hatton Developments, will provide about 20,000 sq ft of new retail space behind the facades of the buildings. An 8,000-sq ft store will be occupied by Boots — moving from Russell Street.

There will also be four shop units, ranging from 700 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft, and a wine bar-cum-restaurant. In addition, the street is being pedestrianised. Completion is schedule for September.

Molyneux Rose and King & Co are joint letting agents, and Lalonde Bros & Parham acted for funders Bass Pension Trust.
