Charity and social: Stepping up for LandAid

LandAid’s second Steptober kicked off last week. The annual event sees professionals from the real estate industry take part in a country-wide step challenge to help support LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness.

Last year’s event raised £132,914.67 for LandAid and this year, with the support of M7 Real Estate, LandAid is pushing for the industry-wide step challenge to be even bigger.

Richard Croft, M7’s executive chairman, said: “Steptober represents a fantastic opportunity for the property industry to unite through fitness, to raise vital funds which will help give young people facing homelessness a brighter future.”

EG will be covering all the action here each week. So far there are 588 participants from 47 companies and a total of 144 teams competing to take the most steps throughout the month of October. With this year’s theme “around the world”, the race is on to walk around the world four times during the month, beating last year’s three and a half laps.

Each week LandAid will be hosting a guided Wednesday Walk – a networking stroll through London finishing at a local pub. M7 will be hosting the walk in week three, beginning and ending at its offices in Monument.
