The Office Group has entered into the German market, signing for circa 320,000 sq ft of space across five buildings, EG can reveal.
The largest building the flexible workspace provider has signed for space at is the 105,000 sq ft eight-storey Presshaus, located in Alexanderplatz, Berlin.
Also in Berlin, it has signed to take 47,000 sq ft in the Blackstone-owned Kontorhaus in Friedrichstraße, and 62,000 sq ft at Unter den Linden. Both buildings include a silent disco and meditation room and indoor gardens.
TOG will open two other buildings it has acquired space in during 2020. In spring, it will open in the 73,000 sq ft Oper 46 building (pictured above) in Frankfurt’s central business district overlooking Frankfurt Opera House. It will open in the 38,000 sq ft Haus am Domplatz building in Hamburg in the second half of 2020.
Advanced negotiations are being held over one further space in Munich.
Until now, TOG has previously only operated in the UK, primarily in London. The business has grown from a single office located along Grays Inn Road, WC1, to acquiring a total of 1.8m sq ft of space across the capital, with the company opening three new workspaces in Holborn, WC1, Waterloo station, SE1, and Hammersmith, W8, this year.
In 2017, Blackstone bought a majority interest in the serviced office provider for around £500m.

TOG co-chief executive Olly Olsen said: “Owing to the partnership we have secured with Blackstone, we now have the international market expertise and investment to be able to take the brand to the next step into a new business market and take our proposition to a new membership base.”
Co-chief executive Charlie Green said: “Germany already has a sophisticated demand for flexible workspace, so in finding and securing five great buildings for TOG’s first overseas workspaces, and with several more in the pipeline, we’re confident that we can create something entirely new and different to enhance the existing offer in the German market.”
