LandAid’s second Steptober challenge drew to a close this week as property professionals stepped up for one final dash to the top of the leaderboard.
The annual event saw more than 500 professionals from the real estate industry take part in a country-wide step challenge to help support LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness.
After a month of shifting top spots, it was Alter Domus’ team, AD Coast Busters, who came out on top of the ‘Team With The Highest Step Count’ table, with their team member Hugo Alves taking pole position in the individual leaderboard, too. The Alter Domus team managed almost 4 million steps between them – the equivalent of walking from London to Tripoli.
The 147 teams taking part managed to rack up nearly 200 million steps altogether this year – beating last year’s impressive total – with enough steps to walk around the world four times.
This year’s Steptober featured a CEO Challenge, with 12 property top dogs stepping up to end youth homelessness and compete with each other. The 12 CEOs took a massive 5 million steps collectively, with competition at the top of the table running high throughout the month.
Steptober 2019 was bigger and better than ever. So far, the fundraising total stands at more than £70,000, with a record number of participants competing with each other to help LandAid in its mission.
Make sure to step up to the plate next year and take part in property’s biggest step challenge.
Property teams racking up cash for LandAid
As Palmer Capital’s money maker challenge enters its final three weeks, there is still everything to play for.
Now in its fourth year the event, run in aid of LandAid, sets a challenge to make as much profit as possible from a starting sum of £250.
The six teams participating in this year’s event are Harlex Property, Osborne Clarke, Packaged Living, Palmer Capital, Queensbury Capital and Trusted Land.
The companies have so far raised funds by hosting a golf day, a walk, a spinathon, and by competing in a rough runner and the 3 peaks challenge.
The winners and the total sum of returns made will be revealed on 22 November at a celebratory party.

The UK offices’ participation included assisting at local food banks, animal shelters and conservation societies.
Alzheimer’s Society enjoys new offices
Cluttons teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Society to advise on the development of its new office space in Birmingham. The project’s key emphasis was placed on wellness and the importance of providing a comfortable space and environment for employees and volunteers, who deal with highly emotional situations. The Cluttons project management team undertook studies to determine how best to use the space, and oversaw the tender for the construction work and fit out.
