Charity and social: Steptober 2019 raises £85,000

The second Steptober event, the industry-wide step challenge, took its final step (for this year…) on 31 October.

Powered by M7 Real Estate, the event has raised over £85,000 for LandAid, the property industry charity, which prides itself on its mission to end youth homelessness.

Steptober challenged 582 professionals from across the property industry to see which team of four could log the highest step count throughout the month of October.

This year’s winners were celebrated at a prize giving event, Step Up To The Podium, hosted by M7 Real Estate, where awards were presented to AD Coast Busters (Alter Domus) for the highest team step count; Grainger for the highest team fundraiser; Hugo Alves from AD Coast Busters (Alter Domus) for the highest individual step count; Bill Hughes of Legal and General Real Assets for CEO Challenge Award’s highest step count; and David Sleath, chief executive officer of SEGRO, for CEO Challenge Award’s highest fundraiser.

Paul Morrish, chief executive at LandAid, said: “This year’s Steptober challenge was bigger and better than ever, and I’m not just saying that because I got the most steps of anyone at LandAid! It was amazing to see so many property industry professionals coming together to step up to end youth homelessness, and I’m absolutely in awe of some of the step counts.

“Thank you so much to everyone who took part – you’ve made an unbelievable difference to the lives of vulnerable young people. See you next year!”
