Plans for a zip-wire across Cardiff Bay have been abandoned after complaints from the residents of a nearby tower block.
Among those to complain were Doctor Who screenwriter Russell T Davis and Pride and Prejudice adaptor Andrew Davies.
Planning officers had recommended that the £30-a-ticket attraction be granted approval.
Both writers complained to the council that their flats would be rendered worthless by the proposals, which would have seen 48 people per hour whizz past their windows as they tried to write the next hit TV show.
