Caddick Group has completed the construction of its 110,000 sq ft media hub in Leeds.
The hub, which will support the relocation of Channel 4 to the city, has been built on the six-acre site of a former printworks. It is 15 minutes from the Majestic, which has been picked by Channel 4 as its new headquarters.
Leeds Council struck a deal with Caddick earlier this year to take the headlease on the site.
The council is subletting the property to studio operator Leeds Studios, which will undertake internal fit-outs of the six units it occupies.
Opera North has signed for 9,000 sq ft.
The hub has more than doubled the amount of studio space in the city.
Johnny Caddick, director at Caddick Group, said: “There is huge demand for studio space across the UK and in Leeds particularly thanks to the arrival of Channel 4.
“The broadcaster’s move will prove a massive boost to the city’s economy and Caddick Group is proud to be part of that growth story by transforming a derelict site into a world-class film and TV complex.”
