Tesco has delivered its fifth consecutive rise in Christmas sales, but only just.
The supermarket chain said that UK like-for-like sales rose 0.1% in the six weeks to January 4. It had its biggest day ever for food sales on December 23.
Tesco, which has 3,700 stores across the world, did less well outside the UK, with festive period sales falling by 0.8% across the business for the six week period.
