St Modwen secures approval for Derby Triangle scheme

Derby City Council has approved St Modwen’s £80m logistics and industrial development in Derby.

The 70-acre site, previously known as Derby Triangle, will comprise up to 650,000 sq ft of industrial and logistic space. Works will commence this year.

St Modwen is preparing to submit plans for the first phase of development, with the first units ready for occupiers in early 2021.

Approval was gained after a revised proposal was submitted in conjunction with landowners Network Rail.

The scheme, at Wyvern Way, is expected to create 1,250 jobs.

Rob Richardson, senior development manager at St Modwen Industrial & Logistics, said it marked a “positive start to the new year”.

Stuart Kirkwood, development director at Network Rail Property, said: “St Modwen Park Derby is perfectly situated for regeneration. What was once wasteland will become home to a significant number of employment opportunities for local people and as landowners we are proudly supportive of this.”

Paul Hill of RPS managed the planning application for St. Modwen. Innes England and Savills are the joint marketing agents.
