Greggs has fled Cornwall as the Pasty Province proved impervious to the charms of its vegan sausage rolls.
The high street baker, which has achieved domination in every single other part of the UK, had set up a small bakery in a service station near the A38 at Saltash. It even decided not to offer pasties, so as not to incur the wrath of the locals.
But poor sales persuaded the steak-bake seller to abandon the peninsula, quietly closing the store in September.
