Camden office-led scheme gets planning

The redevelopment of the St Pancras Commercial Centre, 63 Pratt Street, NW1, has been given the go ahead by Camden Council.

The 1.2-acre scheme, to be delivered by W Real Estate, will see 12 1980s-built industrial units demolished to make way for three buildings ranging in height from five to seven storeys.

Around 175,936 sq ft of office space will be created, as well as 35,478 sq ft of light industrial space and 8,234 sq ft of retail space, according to the plans designed by Caruso St John.

In addition, 43,432 sq ft of residential space – equating to 33 homes, of which 14 will affordable – will be delivered.

Sascha Lewin, managing director of W Real Estate, said: “This is a highly ambitious scheme that balances the re-provision of light industrial space with the delivery of best-in-class office space, high-quality mixed-tenure housing and associated retail space at ground level for all to enjoy.

“It serves as an example of how – through good design – different use classes can seamlessly co-exist to deliver a successful mixed-use destination that meets the needs of all users and benefits the local community.”

Gerald Eve is advising W Real Estate.
