US department store Macy’s has announced that it will close 125 stores.
The chain plans to exit weaker shopping malls and focus on smaller format stores in strip malls. It also wants to refurbish much of its existing estate.
The company estimates the cuts, which include cutting 2,000 head office jobs, will save it $1.5bn by 2022.
