Hillingdon refuses Master Brewer resi scheme

Hillingdon Council has refused plans from Inland Homes to develop 514 flats on the site of the former Master Brewer hotel and pub.

The planning committee followed officer recommendations and referred the scheme back to the Greater London Authority.

Plans submitted to the council in October 2019 propose a residential-led mixed-use development in buildings of between two and 11 storeys, with 182 affordable homes, equating to more than 35% of the flats.

The scheme received 266 objections and two consultations in support. Officers said plans were not in keeping with the local area, next to the green belt, with excessive height and density, and that the scheme had insufficient parking and would create too much traffic in the area.
