France’s richest man is in the running to buy the Ritz.
Bernard Arnault, the billionaire behind the LMVH stable of luxury brands, is one of a handful of parties in the running to buy the famous London hotel from the feuding Barclay family.
A total of 13 bidders, including Sidra Capital, have been permitted to conduct due diligence, although that number has been whittled down.
The Barclay family is looking for a sale over £800m for the iconic Piccadilly hotel.
