MPs have backed Andrew Bailey as the new Bank of England governor, but strongly criticised his running of the Financial Conduct Authority.
The Treasury select committee criticised Bailey’s handling of the London Capital & Finance scandal.
Bailey said that he had been hindered by constraints on the FCA’s powers.
