Harman Healy buyers reject rural idyll

A picturesque thatched cottage in Somerset remains available after failing to attract bids at Harman Healy’s March auction.

The Grade II listed six-bedroom detached house, located in the hamlet of Milton Clevedon, between Bruton and Evercreech, was listed by the auctioneer with a reserve price of £500,000 but received no bids.

It was one of 22 lots offered by Harman Healy at its 5 March sale, 15 of which eventually sold, equating to a success rate of 68%.

Harman Healy raised a total of £5.07m through the sale. The highest price achieved was for a detached property converted into six flats in West Norwood, SE27, offered by a housing association, which sold for £1.96m.

Harman Healy’s next auction will take place on 30 April at Chelsea Old Town Hall, SW3.
