Moda and North Star approved for £200m York regen

Moda Living, Apache and North Star have been given the green light to develop a £200m residential scheme in York.

York-based developer North Star will build 215 flats for sale across two sites, with Moda and Apache responsible for a further 410 flats on a third site at Heworth Green.

The build-to-rent portion will also include more than 20,000 sq ft of amenity space, including shared lounges, health and wellness zones, communal workspace, extensive roof gardens and dining space.

The scheme will also include, retail, community uses, public realm and new pedestrian and cycle paths.

The nine-acre former gasworks site has been vacant for more than 10 years. Moda and Apache partnered with North Star at the start of 2019. The developers intend to begin infrastructure and site remediation works imminently.

It will be Moda and Apache’s second scheme in Yorkshire, after the 515-flat SOYO Leeds, and its 10th in the UK.
