Lawless free to do business after police bail dropped

Elliot Lawless is “free to continue with his business interests” after police bail was dropped following a written court ruling.

A request by Merseyside Police was made to extend Lawless’ bail, after arresting the Elliot Group founder in December last year. However, the request was refused in a written court ruling.

Lawless also secured a judicial review challenging his arrest on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud, bribery, and corruption earlier this month, and an expeditated hearing was ordered in the High Court in London.

A date for the hearing will be fixed in the next 10 days. The police are still continuing their probe into the founder.

Lawless said: “I have maintained from the outset that the allegations put to me were baseless, and this ruling is an important step along the road to proving that point conclusively.”
