Retailer Card Factory has signed a deal to move into a former Fox’s Biscuits distribution facility in Wakefield, Yorks.
The 134,824 sq ft facility is owned by a Mayfair Capital fund, according to market sources.
The warehouse was built in the late 1990s and offers 16,000 pallet spaces, 50 car park spaces and a secure goods yard.
Primarily used for distribution, the warehouse is located off junction 41 of the M1, with more than 1.2m people employed within a 20-mile radius.
More than 67,000 people are employed in the logistics and distribution sector in nearby Leeds.
Scott Morrison, industrial and logistics director at Lambert Smith Hampton, which advised Fox’s Biscuits on the deal, said: “It is great news to complete the transaction in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We anticipated pent-up demand and this unit didn’t disappoint, with a number of occupiers competing for the property from the outset given its prime location and transport links.”
