Councillors at Hackney’s first virtual planning committee have approved the latest phase of the Woodberry Down estate regeneration.
The committee unanimously backed Berkeley Homes’ plans for 584 homes in phase three of the North London regeneration.
Hackney Council and Berkeley will deliver 5,000 homes across the masterplan, to replace 1,950 homes in one of London’s largest estate regenerations.
Phase three comprises four buildings ranging from six to 20 storeys, a new energy centre and a public park.
It includes 20% social rented homes and a further 22% of homes under intermediate rent and shared ownership.
Woodberry Down was built between the 1940s and 1970s. The third phase of the regeneration will replace 260 homes on a 5.5-acre site to the south of Seven Sisters Road.
