Chinese investors buy bust boarding school

A 145-year-old boarding school has been rescued by a group of Chinese investors.

Abbots Bromley School, in rural Staffordshire, was forced to close last year due to financial difficulties. It has now been bought by education investment group Shaanxi Junzi and will reopen in September.

It is the latest cash-strapped private school to be bought by Chinese investors, following St Bees in Cumbria, Ipswich High School for Girls and Chase Grammar near Uttoxeter.
