Charity and social: Help as Big Issue adapts to life off the streets

Barratt Developments has pledged £25,000 to The Big Issue appeal to help the organisation adapt its business to support its vendors. Many are now unable to sell the magazine because of the current health situation.

The appeal is encouraging individuals and businesses to take up a subscription, download the publication’s new app or make a donation to help support the income of the vendors and to ensure the continuing future of the magazine.

Meanwhile, the developer has also donated 400 defibrillators from its sites across the UK to St John’s Ambulance and St Andrew’s First Aid as they provide frontline support to the NHS during the crisis. It has also donated £100,000 to the NHS Charities Together appeal, which supports 250 NHS charities.
