The LandAid Covid-19 Emergency Fund has given out more than £500,00 to youth homelessness charities across the country in its first month and is hoping to raise and distribute £1m in emergency funding in the coming months.
Grants of up to £10,000 have been given to 60 charities including Youth Voice, a national programme which is made up of people aged between 16 and 25 who have experienced homelessness.
The £10,000 grant will be used to support their members through the pandemic and to access small grants for basic necessities such as food, fuel and mobile phone credit.
The companies helping to support the property industry charity include Abstract Securities, Allsop, BCLP, BNP Paribas Real Estate, CLS Holdings, Grainger, Grosvenor Estate, Helical, Knight Frank, Landsec, Logicor, M&G, Picton Capital, Prologis, Savills, Segro, Siren Design, Simmons & Simmons, Squire Patton Boggs, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.

Duo behind restaurant group deliver the goods
Stephen Tozer and Ed Brunet, co-founders of restaurants Maison Bab and Le Bab, are the creators behind charitable initiative The London Restaurant Co-operative, a not-for-profit social kitchen supporting the hospitality industry and frontline workers during the crisis.
Since it was launched at the end of March, the enterprise has delivered more than 9,000 meals to NHS staff at London hospitals and The Connection at St Martin’s Field Homeless Shelter (main picture).
GCW goes an extra 868 miles in lockdown
GCW property consultants has raised £11,500 for charity through a company lockdown challenge.
All 29 members of staff took part in a week of continuous exercise, requiring one person to complete one hour of exercise every hour over five days.
The daily round-the-clock challenge involved all the team running, cycling, walking or doing another form of exercise, as long as it complied with government lockdown rules.
A total of 868 miles was travelled in aid of Elifar, a charity which provides support and care for disabled children and young adults.
Brent Cross fund offers grants to aid town centre vision
Brent Cross South Community Fund has returned for a second year with a £30,000 funding pot to assist local initiatives.
Grants of up to £3,000 will be awarded to local projects, with priority given to schemes that aim to respond directly to the impact of Covid-19. The fund’s themes will reflect the ambition for the new town centre to be an inclusive, people-first place which strives to be healthy and sustainable.
The fund is being delivered by Semble, an independent organisation.
The closing date for applications is 28 June.

Countryside Properties lends hand to communities
Countryside Properties has set up a £1m fund to help support local charities, groups, food banks and others essential local services through the coronavirus crisis. The firm’s executive committee and the board of directors have also taken a voluntary 20% reduction in base salary and fees until 1 June and the equivalent cash amount will be added to the community fund.
HFD pledges £250,000 to Scottish charities
The HFD Charitable Foundation has pledged £250,000 to support local causes and vulnerable communities in Glasgow and Lanarkshire which have been affected by Covid-19. The initiatives supported include the St Andrew’s Hospice in Airdrie, NSPCC Childline Glasgow, Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire and the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity Covid-19 Appeal. The firm is also match funding employee-led charitable initiatives up to £20,000.
Pair help deliver more than 2,000 meals to NHS staff
Phillip Arnold, of Phillip Arnold Auctions, and Murray Lee, owner of Dreamview Estates, are just a two members of the property fraternity who have been volunteering in their spare time during lockdown. Through the social network You Donate, We Deliver, the duo have helped to deliver more than 2,000 meals to staff at NHS hospitals across London.
