Shares among the major retail REITs have risen today, after the government outlined plans to allow non-essential retail in England to reopen from 15 June.
Hammerson’s share price ended trading up 17.6% at 74.36p, while British Land closed at 380p after shares rallied by 9.2%.
Other notable risers among the listed shopping centre landlords include Landsec, after its shares traded up 7.3% at 584p, and intu, which ended the session up 6.6% at 5.12p.
The FTSE 250 finished the day at 16,933 points, up 3.26%. The FTSE 100 climbed 1.24%, to 6,067.
