ilke Homes expands with new homes and development unit

Modular housebuilder ilke Homes has launched a new homes and development unit to offer turnkey housing schemes to developers, housing associations and local authorities.

The division will be led by Ben Miller, who has been promoted to chief executive of ilke Homes.

It will acquire land, gain planning permission, build the homes and sell completed developments to reduce risk and help customers bring more homes to market faster.

Executive chairman Dave Sheridan will continue to oversee the core manufacturing part of the business.

The Yorkshire-based business has opened new offices in London, Birmingham and Bristol to support the expanded operations. From these bases it is seeking development opportunities and partnerships to drive the business.

Miller said: “For Britain to recover quickly from Covid-19, the construction sector needs to be able to respond fast. Having a turnkey offer – where we acquire land, get consent and supply finished modules – will enable us to better support clients who want to bring homes to the market more quickly.”

Ilke Homes has a target to deliver 5,000 homes a year by 2025. It has a development pipeline of 3,200 homes, which has almost trebled from the level a year ago.
