The consortium behind a new business park in Plymouth, Devon, has been granted outline planning consent for the scheme, providing 500,000 sq ft of space for corporate occupiers.
Sherford Business Park Plymouth will be located close to the A38 Devon Expressway. It covers 33 acres of privately owned land.
The business park forms part of the mixed-use Sherford development being brought forward by the Sherford Consortium, comprising a partnership between Taylor Wimpey and Vistry Partnerships, which is part of the Vistry Group.
The location is touted to become one of the South West’s “most innovative” business hubs, with the capacity to support digital and hi-tech businesses.
It is expected to attract occupiers in the industrial, maritime, manufacturing, technology, advanced engineering, and distribution industries, as well as firms seeking premium office space, leisure and recreation facilities.
Sherford will eventually have 5,500 homes in three distinct neighbourhoods, four schools, community and leisure facilities, shops, businesses and green spaces.
Ian Pugsley, technical director at Taylor Wimpey, said the project is already fielding enquiries.
He added: “It is part of an exceptional development; the community of Sherford is growing and thriving. Bringing businesses and industry to the town will only make this mixed-use development even more vibrant and successful.”
The consortium has instructed JLL and Monk & Partners as its agents on the project, both of which will partner with businesses to progress plans.
