Irish property investment fund Quanta Capital has appointed Michael Buckley as its new chairman.
He is currently chairman of KKR Alternative Investment Managers and of KKR Credit Advisers (Ireland). He is also a senior adviser to a number of Irish-owned companies and is on the board of the Bon Secours Hospital Group. Previously he was chief executive of AIB from 2001 to 2005.
Quanta said his appointment would support its plan to double its assets under management from €500m to over €1bn in the next 12 months.
The fund also appointed Linda Hickey as a non-executive director.
She is a non-executive director of Kingspan and Cairn Homes. She is also chair of the board of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service and is a former director of corporate broking at Goodbody Stockbrokers.
Mel Sutcliffe, chief executive of Quanta Capital, said:“Their track record with both private and publicly quoted companies will support the future growth of Quanta’s acquisitions, and will be complementary to the exceptionally experienced team that already exists within Quanta.”
Quanta’s existing portfolio includes 3m sq ft of logistics assets and 500,000 sq ft of offices.
The company’s investments to date have focused on Ireland, but Quanta is actively exploring opportunities in both the Spanish and UK markets and is anticipating investing in both countries over the next 24 months.
Quanta is backed by Fairfield Real Estate Finance and Oaktree Capital Management.
