Ukrainian scion buys Med island for €10m

The son of a Ukrainian tycoon has bought a Mediterranean island close to Monte Carlo for €10m.

Named Gallinara, the 470m-long wooded island was once the hideout of mediaeval popes and then a fortified Nazi base.

It will now become the private domain of Olexandr Boguslayev, who currently lives just over the water in Monaco.
