DW Sports will close all of its 75 stores in the next four weeks.
The retailer, founded by former Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan, has entered administration.
The retailer also owns 73 gyms and a runs 43 Fitness First gyms as a separate business. It said that some gyms will “inevitably close”.
BDO are seeking a buyer, with Sports Directs Mike Ashley reported to be running a rule over the business.
Its 43 Fitness First gyms are said to be unaffected by the administration.
