Lebanon top banker linked to $100m property empire

The governor of Lebanon’s central bank has been linked to a $100m global property empire.

The Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, along with Lebanese investigative journalists, have analysed company holdings that appear to be linked to Riad Salameh.

Most of the $100m is invested in property in Britain, including a £3.5m flat in Hyde Park.

Salameh has claimed that there is no wrongdoing, pointing out that he was already worth $23m when he took the job in 1993.
