Senior living developer Auriens has won planning approval for a 142-home scheme at Heythrop College in Kensington Square, W8.
The developer, which is backed by investment group Zenprop, will build a 330,000 sq ft residential scheme for over-65s. Its facilities will include a 100-cover restaurant, cinema, wine room, library, swimming pool, spa and gym, as well as two acres of landscaped gardens.
Kohn Pederson Fox is the architect for the scheme.
The site currently houses a Grade II listed college building, three townhouses, and student accommodation and classroom buildings.
David Meagher, chief executive of Auriens, said: “With our Auriens Chelsea scheme on track to open mid-2021, we are seeing strong levels of demand from local residents, and we expect to see the same uptake for Auriens Kensington.
“It has taken three years of hard work to get this planning in place, and we are very grateful to all the stakeholders and Auriens employees who worked tirelessly to get this result.”
The deputy mayor of London previously refused the scheme in April last year, owing to its low level of affordable housing.
