Market wrap: Capco slides as FTSE trades down

Capital & Counties and Capital & Regional were among the day’s biggest REIT fallers on the stock exchange.

Capco’s shares ended the day down 3.57% to 121.5p, while CapReg traded down 3.47% to 66.8p.

On the other end of the scale, Alternative Income REIT was the top REIT riser, climbing 4.39% to 59.5p.

Earlier today the firm named Panmure Gordon as its new corporate broker, replacing Cenkos Securities.

Two housebuilders, Barratt Developments and Taylor Wimpey, were among the companies posting the biggest declines on the FTSE 100 today.

Shares in Taylor Wimpey were down 3.09% to 117.8p, and Barratt was down 3.08% to 509.8p.

The FTSE 100 finished the session down 1.11% to 6,037.01 and the FTSE 250 dropped 0.61% to 17,577.89.
