Hackney Council has granted Berkeley Homes planning consent for the third phase of its redevelopment of the Woodbury Down Estate near Seven Sisters Road, N4.
The plans include 584 homes, of which 42% will be affordable, across four blocks ranging from six to 20 storeys.
Around 11,248 sq ft of commercial, retail and community floorspace and a new park will also be provided.
Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, this latest phase covers 5.4 acres to the east of Woodberry Grove and south of Seven Sisters Road. The site is currently occupied by the Happy Man pub, the former Robin Redmond Centre and a series of council-owned housing blocks.
The scheme is part of the eight-phase Woodbury Down regeneration project being delivered by Berkeley Homes, Hackney Council, Notting Hill Genesis and the Woodberry Down Community Organisation.
It is replacing 1,890 homes with more than 5,500 and is expected to complete in 2035.
