Godwin Group’s development arm has appointed a new senior development director to drive its expansion into build-to-rent.
The developer has hired Lindsay McCombe, who previously worked at property consultancy Gleeds as vice president of its New York office.
He will be based at the company’s Birmingham office, where he will be tasked with overseeing delivery and pipeline growth of its BTR schemes.
In his last role, McCombe oversaw projects including $1bn works on the One Wall Street development.
He has also held roles at asset management firm Currie & Brown, Capita Real Estate and Instrastructure, and set up his own firm, Locus Consultants.
During McCombe’s career, he led cost and project management for a range of blue chip clients including Deutsche Bank, Avenues: The World School, Marks & Spencer, Prosperous Global China, Jaguar Land Rover, Ballymore & Hines, the University of Warwick, Coventry University and University College Birmingham.
McCombe said: “Godwin’s board has an ambitious plan for expansion which aligns with the strong fundamentals of the residential sector and the proven resilience of the build-to-rent market.”
Stuart Pratt, group development director at Godwin Developments, said: “Lindsay will play a strategic role in our vision for growth in the BTR sector, and will strengthen our capacity to deliver more exciting new developments for investors, BTR asset managers and residents across the country.”
