Renters are fleeing inner London in favour of leafier homes further afield as the need to commute becomes less important than space.
An analysis of 60m searches on Rightmove in August showed steep falls in the number of searches for former rental strongholds such as in Earl’s Court and West Kensington, but big boost for Chessington in Kingston upon Thames, Cambridge and Cirencester.
