Hammerson marked its final day in the FTSE 250 index with a drop in value – both for its existing and newly issued shares.
The company’s shares fell by 8.7% over the course of trading to close at 21p. Shares issued during its recapitalisation – which currently have a separate quote – fell by almost 30% to 5.06p.
From Monday, Hammerson will be in London’s FTSE SmallCap index, having been relegated from the FTSE 250 earlier this month.
There was also a notable fall for NewRiver REIT, whose near-8% drop left its shares trading at an all-time low of 46.05p.
The biggest gain among London’s REITs was secured by Palace Capital, which was up by almost 5% at 193p.
The FTSE 100 and 250 each ended trading down by a little less than 1%, at 6,007 and 17,569 respectively.
