Caddick Developments has filed proposals for a new 612,500 sq ft industrial and logistics facility in Farington, Lancashire.
The proposed scheme would offer a mix of industrial and logistics space with ancillary offices. These range from big-box distribution facilities and mid-box production and warehousing, to smaller units for local businesses.
The 40-acre site, which is adjacent to Lancashire Business Park, is expected to create around 830 full-time jobs upon completion. A further 420 full-time jobs will be created during the construction phase.
Steve Widdowson, North West director of Caddick Developments, said: “Granted planning permission, this landmark project would make a key intervention into meeting the increased regional demand for developments of this size and type. In turn, our proposals would provide a significant economic boost to the community and create hundreds of local jobs.
“There is continued demand from occupiers to be on the M6 Corridor and this site is very well placed to meet that need.”
Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank are the joint letting agents on the scheme.
