MHA has lodged plans for a £100m mixed-use development at Fisherman’s Dock in Poole, Dorset.
The development comprises 228 flats, a 118-bedroom boutique hotel, a rooftop restaurant and bar, and 8,600 sq ft of commercial space, which will include leisure and retail to cater to Poole’s tourism sector.
MHA acquired the 2.7-acre former Thistle Hotel site in May 2018. The site is directly opposite the Marina and adjacent to the Dolphin Quays development.
It has been allocated for mixed-use development in the local plan. MHA has worked with Holloway architects on the plans for more than 117,000 sq ft of development space. The developer conducted a virtual public consultation during lockdown.
Hossein Abedinzadeh, founder of MHA, said: “This project is inspired by the rich history of the site and its local surroundings. Not only will Fisherman’s Dock regenerate this part of Poole, it will also give back to the local community with the provision of valuable homes and employment opportunities.”
