Property millionaire donor wooed back by Labour

David Abrahams has been brought back as a Labour backer.

The Newcastle-based property developer last gave money to the party when it was led by Tony Blair.

In 2007 he was found at the centre of a scandal after donating nearly £700,000 through his builder, his secretary and others.

Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer, had approached Abrahams about donating to the party in a bid to shift the focus of funding away from the unions.
