L&G’s later living business announces board appointments

Legal & General’s later living business Inspired Villages has made two new appointments.

Sharon Badelek will become chief financial officer, while Tom Lord has been named chief operating officer.

Badelek has more than 20 years’ experience and her previous roles include chief financial officer and chief executive of Novus Leisure, group finance director at Vue Entertainment, group financial controller of Virgin Active and chief e-financial officer of Westpoint Veterinary Group.

She will help oversee Inspired Villages’ plan to deliver 50 later living communities over the next five-10 years.

Lord joined the business in 2018 from InterContinental Group, where he was head of global operations.

Inspired Villlages operates six later living communities across the UK and plans to add a further 2,500 homes to its portfolio over the next six years.

Chief executive Jamie Bunce said: “Sharon and Tom’s board appointments will further support the company’s purpose of redefining the later living experience in this country and making a significant contribution to the overall strategic direction of Inspired Villages.”
