Veloce revs up Fulham esports racing hub

Racing esports network Veloce Esports has signed for a new hub at Bassett Works in Fulham, SW6.

The esports organisation has taken a five-year lease for a 2,856 sq ft space at 58a Bronsart Road, paying £35 per sq ft. The agreement includes second and third-year breaks.

The space will be fitted out with simulators and gaming facilities for the organisation’s drivers and teams to train and compete.

Veloce was set up by former Formula 1 driver Jean-Eric Vergne, racing drivers Rupert Svendsen-Cook and Jack Clarke and football agent Jamie MacLaurin.

It works with brands and celebrities to set up and operate esports teams. These have included British Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, who teamed up with the organisation last month to set up a brand called Quadrant.

Professional racing is one of many sports that staged virtual tournaments during lockdown. Among these, F1 held a virtual grand prix series that attracted some 30m views across television and digital platforms during the first lockdown.

A firm called Colzac, linked to football agent William Sherling, owns the freehold for Veloce’s new esports hub, according to Land Registry documents.

Frost Meadowcroft and Peppercorn Property Advisors acted on behalf of the landlord, while Making Moves advised the tenant.
