Persimmon, Crest Nicholson and Countryside Properties were among the top risers on the stock exchange today, holding their ground as London prepares to go into tier 3 lockdown on Wednesday.
The housebuilders posted a boost on the back of growing hopes that a no-deal Brexit can be avoided.
Persimmon was the biggest real estate gainer on the FTSE 100, with its shares rising by 4.9% to 2,584p. The index as a whole went into the red, down by 0.2% to 6,531 points.
Crest Nicholson, Countryside Properties and Vistry Group all posted significant gains on the FTSE 250, which inched up by 0.7% to finish the session in positive territory at 19,764.
Shares in Crest Nicholson were up by 4.9% to 295.6p, while Countryside Properties rose by 4.5% to 418.2p. Vistry Group was up by 4.1% to 835.5p.
