Plans to add an extra 23 metres to the unloved Tour Montparnasse have been cut down to size.
The 59-storey Paris slab is being revamped by architects Nouvelle AOM, with new cladding to make it “limpid and light”.
The plans originally included a top floor greenhouse, adding 23m, but that has now been scaled-down, reducing the overall height by 8m.
“It’s a first step,” said Julien Lacaze, president of Sites and Monuments.
