Far East Consortium has agreed to partner with three housing associations for its Red Bank scheme at the £1bn Northern Gateway in Manchester.
The developer has selected L&Q’s Trafford Housing Trust, Great Places Housing Group and The Guinness Partnership to deliver the affordable housing at the 5,500-home scheme.
The partnerships could see more than 800 affordable homes developed over the next decade.
Red Bank will be a residential-led neighbourhood next to Victoria train station. It includes 4,000 homes to be delivered by FEC on land under its ownership.
The Northern Gateway is a 15,000-home neighbourhood from joint venture partners FEC and Manchester City Council.
Hilary Brett-Parr, project director at FEC, said: “Our three panel members will each be able to bring something extra to the table from their experiences across the UK and their input will be invaluable in helping to shape our proposals for a new mixed community in Red Bank.
“We are keen to get started with our new partners on board and hope to be announcing further progress in Red Bank over the coming months.”
FEC was advised by Avison Young.
