Avison Young has hired a social and affordable housing valuations team.
The agent has brought on Nick Worman, former head of social housing at Bruton Knowles, to lead the division as director.
Worman spent nine years at Bruton Knowles, after 19 years with BNP Paribas focused on a residential specialism.
He is joined by Lisa Roberts as associate director and Stuart Randall as senior surveyor. The team will sit within the wider valuation consultancy departments.
The expansion comes as an increasing number of developers and funds turn attention to social and affordable housing. Developers Watkin Jones and London Square are both exploring new business ventures targeting affordable housing and funds, including PGIM and M&G Real Estate which are increasing their investments through various vehicles.
Peter O’Brien, principal and head of valuation consultancy at Avison Young, said: “We have noticed an increase in client demand for specialist affordable housing valuation advice, and we are responding to this by growing our expert valuation consultancy team.”
