British Land hires Halfords finance boss to head audit committee

Halfords’ finance boss Loraine Woodhouse is to join British Land to head the REIT’s audit board as a non-executive director.

Woodhouse, who has been chief financial officer at the retailer since November 2018, has also held senior finance roles at John Lewis, Waitrose and Capital Shopping Centres, which later became intu.

She will join the company next week and will chair British Land’s audit committee from 31 March.

Tim Score, chairman of British Land, said: “I am delighted to welcome Loraine to the British Land board and as chair of our audit committee. She has extensive experience across all finance disciplines and has worked within many different sectors, including real estate and retail.”

Current audit committee chair Preben Prebensen will step down from his role as interim chair of audit but will remain a member of the committee.
