Planners reject 800-home East Hill scheme

Medway Council’s planning committee has refused an application for 800 homes at the East Hill scheme in Kent.

Councillors unanimously rejected plans from landowner FD Attwood and Partners, citing overdevelopment of the countryside and potential harm to residential amenity.

The application proposed 800 market and affordable homes, a primary school, local health surgery, shops and a link road at the 122-acre agricultural site near Chatham town centre.
